The Metropolitan Council met in regular session on this date at 7:00 p.m. in the Metropolitan Courthouse.

The invocation was offered by Reverend Dr. Sherman Roosevelt Tribble of New Visions Baptist Church.

The Metropolitan Council gave the pledge of allegiance to the American Flag.

The roll was called and the following members were present during the progress of the meeting: Ferrell, Waters, Briley, Gentry, Tucker, Gilmore, Black, Nollner, Majors, Hall, Beehan, Campbell, Dillard, Balthrop, Derryberry, Stanley, Loring, McClendon, Greer, Hausser, Wallace, Haddox, Whitmore, Hand, Bogen, Shulman, Arriola, Sontany, Alexander, Holloway, Kerstetter, Knoch, Jenkins, Williams, Lineweaver, and President Steine (36); Absent: Hart, Brown, Ponder, Summers, Turner (5).

The Minutes of the regular meeting of October 17, 2000 were approved.

- ELECTIONS AND CONFIRMATIONS -

Agricultural Extension Board

Appointment of Mr. Lean Statom to the Agricultural Extension Board for a term expiring August 1, 2003. In the absence of the nominee, the appointment was deferred without objection.

Charitable Solicitations Board

Reappointment of Mr. Bert Hubbell to the Charitable Solicitations Board for a term expiring October 9, 2001. The Rules-Confirmations-Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment, and Mr. Ferrell moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.

Appointment of Ms. Shana Williams Alford to the Gas/Mechanical Examiners and Appeals Board for a term expiring August 21, 2004. The Rules-Confirmations-Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment, and Mr. Ferrell moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.

Reappointment of Mr. John Coben to the Gas/Mechanical Examiners and Appeals Board for a term expiring August 21, 2004. The Rules-Confirmations-Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment, and Mr. Ferrell moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.

Appointment of Mr. Harold Thompson to the Gas/Mechanical Examiners and Appeals Board for a term expiring August 21, 2004. The Rules-Confirmations-Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment, and Mr. Ferrell moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.

Board of Housing Code Appeals

Reappointment of Mr. Michael Trigg to the Board of Housing Code Appeals for a term expiring August 6, 2004. The Rules-Confirmations-Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment, and Mr. Ferrell moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.

An ordinance to amend Title 17 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws, the Zoning Ordinance of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by changing from AR2a District to RS7.5 District a portion of property at Rural Hill Road (unnumbered), approximately 1,800 feet north of Mt. View Road (9.9 acres), (Proposal No. 2000Z?056U?13), all of which is more particularly described herein. The bill was approved by the Planning Commission and Planning, Zoning and Historical Committee. Mr. Alexander requested a hearing from the public on this bill which had been previously advertised. An ordinance to amend Title 17 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws, the Zoning Ordinance of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by changing from RM20 District to MUG District 69 properties between the east margin of the CSX Railroad and the west margin of D. B. BILL NO. BL2000-441

An ordinance amending Title 17 of the Metropolitan Code, Zoning Regulations, by amending Section 17.12.080 cluster lot option by requiring such cluster lot plats be established by ordinance of the Council adopted pursuant to Article III of Chapter 17.40, all of which is more particularly described herein. Mr. Dillard moved to withdraw the bill, which motion was seconded and adopted without objection.
