RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-406

A resolution recognizing the 2000 Lipscomb-Green Hills "Fireballs" Little League Team.

WHEREAS, the Lipscomb-Green Hills Little League Baseball Team consists of young men eleven years old; and

WHEREAS, the "Fireballs" showed exceptional team play, sportsmanship and dedication throughout the 2000 Cal Ripkin District 14 championship tournament on their way to the championship title; and

WHEREAS, in winning the District 14 championship it allowed the "Fireballs" to gain a spot in the state tournament; and

WHEREAS, the members of this talented team are James Nutkis, Corban Joseph, Franklin Pogue, Max Harvell, Alex Boyd, Tyler Davis, Andrew Triggs, Drew Strickland, Travis Brannon and batboy Colin Brannon; and

WHEREAS, the team was led by Coaches Terry Strickland, George Harvell, Randy Sharber and Will Sharber; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize the 2000 Lipscomb-Green Hill "Fireballs".

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the 2000 Lipscomb-Green Hills "Fireballs" Little League Team.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to the coaching staff and to each member of the team.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
