RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-402

A resolution recognizing Adam Dean Shepherd upon receiving the prestigious Eagle Scout award.

WHEREAS, Adam Dean Shepherd of Boy Scout Troop 99 earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest and most distinguished rank conferred by the Boy Scouts of America; and

WHERAS, a candidate for this highest award in scouting must complete a rigorous program of training and demonstrates proficiency in selected scouting techniques; and

WHEREAS, Adam Shepherd currently has achieved a total of forty-one merit badges, along with as a member of the Brotherhood - Order of the Arrow; and

WHEREAS, Adam began his outstanding scouting career eleven years ago as a cub scout earning the Arrow of Light, cub scouting's highest award; and

WHEREAS, because of his exceptional ability and superior leadership skills, he was chosen as a staff instructor at Boxwell Reservation, crew leader on two expeditions to Philmont Scout Ranch and a Senior Patrol Leader; and

WHEREAS, Adam Shepherd, attends Harpeth Hills Church of Christ and is a senior at Franklin Road Academy, where he has been a member of the Honor Council for four years, attended the 2000 Governors School for the Arts at MTSU and is an alumni of Nashville Youth Leadership Conference; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize and honor Adam Dean Shepherd for his outstanding accomplishments in scouting.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Adam Dean Shepherd upon receiving the prestigious Eagle Scout award.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Adam Dean Shepherd.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
