The Metropolitan Council met in regular session on this date at 6:30 p.m. in the Metropolitan Courthouse.
The invocation was offered by Reverend Chris Allen of Tulip Street United Methodist Church.
The Metropolitan Council gave the pledge of allegiance to the American Flag.

Reappointment of Ms. Aleah Armstrong for a term expiring June 30, 2018. The Rules-Confirmations-Public Elections Committee recommended the reappointment and Mr. Harmon moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.

- RESOLUTION ON PUBLIC HEARING -
RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1571
A resolution exempting Smokies BBQ located at 202 Thompson Lane, Suite 212, from the minimum distance requirements for obtaining a beer permit pursuant to Section 7.08.090.E. of the Metropolitan Code. Mr. Tenpenny requested a hearing from the public on this resolution which had been previously advertised. The President asked if anyone desired to be heard for or against the bill and no one came forward to be heard. The President declared the public hearing closed. Mr. Tenpenny offered a substitute resolution and moved that it be accepted for filing and which motion was seconded and adopted by a voice vote of the Council.
SUBSTITUTE RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1571
A resolution exempting Smokies BBQ located at 212 Thompson Lane from the minimum distance requirements for obtaining a beer permit pursuant to Section 7.08.090.E. of the Metropolitan Code. An ordinance amending Section 7.08.090 of the Metropolitan Code to provide a mechanism for retail establishments to obtain an exemption from the minimum distance requirements for obtaining a beer permit upon approval of the Metropolitan Council by resolution, to remove the requirement that a restaurant possess a license issued by the state alcoholic beverage commission for sale and consumption of wine or other alcoholic beverages on the premises in order to obtain an exemption to the minimum distance requirements, and to add a requirement that a sign be posted advertising the public hearing.
