ORDINANCE NO. BL2015-1282

An ordinance adopting a revised pay scale for poll officials.

WHEREAS, T.C.A. §2-4-108 provides that the compensation for the training of election officials may be increased by the county legislative body; and

WHEREAS, T.C.A. §2-4-109 provides that the compensation for officers of elections, judges, machine operators, and inspectors may be increased by the county legislative body; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan County Council deems it necessary to ratify the increase the compensation for poll officials as set forth herein.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the following pay scale be adopted for all poll officials:

(a) $200 for inspectors and officers, plus $40 for picking up and returning poll supplies on election day
(b) $150 for precinct registrars, assistant precinct registrars, judges, and voting machine operators
(c) $25 for each training session plus a $5 mileage allowance

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
