Metropolitan Council Meeting

The Metropolitan Council met in regular session on this date at 6:30 p.m. in the Metropolitan Courthouse.

The invocation was offered by The Most Reverend David C. Choby, Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Nashville.

The Metropolitan Council gave the pledge of allegiance to the American Flag.

Human Relations Commission
Appointment of Mr. King Hollands for a term expiring April 18, 2013. The Rules-Confirmations-Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment and Ms. Page moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.

Appointment of Mr. Frank Stevenson for a term expiring April 18, 2013. The Rules-Confirmations-Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment and Ms. Page moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.

Plumbing Examiners and Appeals Board
Reappointment of Mr. Chris Wehby for a term expiring March 10, 2014. The Rules-Confirmations-Public Elections Committee recommended the reappointment and Ms. Page moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.

Tourism and Convention Commission
Reappointment of Ms. Amy Atkinson for a term expiring June 30, 2013. At the request of the nominee, the confirmation was deferred.

A resolution approving the proposed amended and restated charter and amended by laws for the Nashville Education, Community and Arts Television Corporation. The Budget and Finance and Personnel-Public Information-Human Relations-Housing Committees with an amendment. A resolution providing amendments to the Charter of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, in accordance with Article 19, Section 19.01, and setting forth a brief description of each amendment to be placed on the ballot. The Charter Revision Committee recommended indefinite deferment. Mr. Tygard moved to defer the resolution indefinitely, which motion was seconded and adopted by a voice vote of the Council.

A resolution authorizing the execution and delivery of the First Amendment to the Amended and Restated Intergovernmental Project Agreement with the Sports Authority of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County related to the Nashville Arena.
