ORDINANCE NO. BL2010-722

An ordinance accepting a donation of funds and vehicles to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County by Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., for the use and benefit of the Department of General Services.

WHEREAS, Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., wishes to donate funds in the amount of $10,000 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the use and benefit of the Department of General Services; and,

WHEREAS, Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., also wishes to donate two Volkswagen Routan Minivans valued at $31,400 each, for a total value of $62,800 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the use and benefit of the Department of General Services; and,

WHEREAS, a copy of the donation letter from Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this donation be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the donation of two Volkswagen Routan Minivans and funds in the amount of $10,000 by Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, pursuant to the donation letter attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the funds received by the Metropolitan Government pursuant to the attached donation letter shall be appropriated to the Department of General Services.
Section 3. That the Department of General Services is authorized to accept the vehicles for its use and benefit.

Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
