Metropolitan Council Meeting

Tuesday, March 17, 1998


The Metropolitan Council met in regular session on this date at 7:00 p.m. in the Metropolitan Courthouse.

The invocation was offered by Councilman Charles Fentress.

The Metropolitan Council gave the pledge of allegiance to the American Flag.

The Minutes of the regular meeting of March 3, 1998 were approved.

The President called for nominations to fill two vacancies on the Industrial Development Board of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for unexpired terms ending August 23, 2001. Mr. Ponder nominated Mr. Aubrey Gregory, which motion was seconded. There being no further nominations, the matter was referred to the Rules-Confirmations-Public Elections-Aviation Committee for a recommendation and an election will be conducted at the next regular meeting of the Council.

The communications were received and read. Mr. Harrison, Chairman of the Rules-Confirmations-Public Elections-Aviation Committee, reported that the committee had considered and recommended the reappointments of Messrs. The communication was received and read. Mr. Harrison, Chairman of the Rules-Confirmations-Public Elections-Aviation Committee, reported that the committee had considered and recommended the appointment of Ms. Snell to the Emergency Communications District Board. A resolution appropriating the amount of $5,308,979 from the General Fund Reserve Fund for the purchase of equipment, and for making repairs to buildings for various departments of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County. RESOLUTION NO. R98-1079

A resolution modifying the list of approved bill paying stations in accordance with Metropolitan Ordinance No. O88-613. The resolution was approved by the Public Works Committee.
