ORDINANCE NO. O98-1115

AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,500 FROM THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION, NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMISSION, TO THE METROPOLITAN BOARD OF PARKS AND RECREATION FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THE LEARN AND SERVE PROGRAM.

WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms set forth in the document attached as Exhibit A, the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, National and Community Service Commission ("TDF"), has proposed to grant (the "Grant") to the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation the sum of seven thousand five hundred dollars ($7,500) to implement the Learn and Serve Program; and

WHEREAS, the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County will benefit by accepting the Grant.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Grant (Exhibit A) is hereby approved.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the Grant.

SECTION 3. Any amendment to the Grant must be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving at least 21 affirmative votes.

SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
