The Metropolitan Council met in regular session on this date at 6:30 p.m. in the Metropolitan Courthouse.
The invocation was offered by Reverend Lindsey Krinks of Open Table Nashville.
The Metropolitan Council gave the pledge of allegiance to the American Flag.

Agricultural Extension Board
Appointment of Ms. Sylvia Ganier for a term expiring August 1, 2020. The Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment. Ms. Haywood moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.
Reappointment of Mr. Will Nesby for a term expiring August 1, 2020. The Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections Committee recommended the reappointment. Ms. Haywood moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.

Community Corrections Advisory Board
Appointment of Mr. Eric Evans for a term expiring January 18, 2018. Mr. Evans will fill the unexpired term of Mr. Eric Brown.
The Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment. Ms. Haywood moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.
Electric Power Board
Reappointment of Ms. Irma Paz-Bernstein for a term expiring July 1, 2022. The Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections Committee recommended the reappointment. Ms. Haywood moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council with Mr. Elrod abstaining.
Fire and Building Codes Appeals Board
Appointment of Mr. Cal Nielson for a term expiring March 1, 2021. The Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment. Ms. Haywood moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.
Historical Commission
Reappointment of Mr. Bob Allen for a term expiring August 10, 2021. The Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections Committee recommended the reappointment. Ms. Haywood moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.
Appointment of Mr. Richard Courtney for a term expiring August 1, 2019. Mr. Courtney will fill the unexpired term of Mr. Barrett Hobbs. The Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment. Ms. Haywood moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.
Appointment of Ms. Lynne Holliday for a term expiring August 10, 2021. The Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment. Ms. Haywood moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.
Reappointment of Dr. C. William (Bill) McKee for a term expiring August 10, 2021. At the request of the nominee, the confirmation was deferred.
Social Services Commission
Appointment of Mr. Brandon Tompkins for a term expiring April 3, 2020. Mr. Tompkins will fill the unexpired term of Mr. Steven Turner. The Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment. Ms. Haywood moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.
Tourism and Convention Commission
Appointment of Ms. Britney Chandler for a term expiring June 30, 2020. The Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment. Ms. Haywood moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.
Industrial Development Board
The President called for nominations to fill three vacancies on the Industrial Development Board. Ms. Burkley Allen nominated Ms. Ginger Hausser; Mr. Russ Pulley nominated Ms. Cristina Allen; Mr. Scott Davis nominated Ms. Saletta Holloway; Mr. Freddie O’Connell nominated Ms. Lindsey Cox; Ms. Sharon Hurt nominated Mr. Eddie Gray. There being no further nominations, the President declared the nominations closed. The nominees were referred to the Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections Committee for a recommendation, and an election will be conducted at the next regular meeting of the Council.
Health and Educational Facilities Board
Notice was given by the President of two (2) vacancies on the Health and Educational Facilities Board which vacancies are filled by the Council. Nominations will be taken at the meeting of September 19, 2017, and an election will be held to fill the vacancies on October 3, 2017.

The bill was approved by the Planning Commission. Mr. Scott Davis moved to defer the bill indefinitely, which motion was seconded and approved by a voice vote of the Council.
An ordinance amending Section 17.12.040.E.26 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws to establish a maximum permitted height of ten feet for electric fences within any zoning district where electric fences are permitted (Proposal No. 2017Z-016TX-001). Mr. Swope moved to withdraw, which motion was seconded and adopted by a voice vote of the Council.
An ordinance to amend Title 17 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws, the Zoning Ordinance of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by changing from RS5 to R6-A zoning on property located at 2401 Alameda Street, at the southwest corner of Alameda Street and 24th Avenue North (0.18 acres), all of which is described herein (Proposal No. 2017Z-032PR-001).
