Metropolitan Council Meeting

Tuesday, June 22, 1999


The Metropolitan Council met in an adjourned session on this date at 7:00 p.m. in the Metropolitan Courthouse.

The invocation was offered by Councilmember George Armistead.

The Metropolitan Council gave the pledge of allegiance to the American Flag.

The Minutes of the regular meeting of June 15, 1999 were approved.

- RESOLUTION -

RESOLUTION NO. R99-1596

A resolution approving a contract by and between the Metropolitan Government and Waste Management, Inc., for collection of residential curbside recycling materials in the urban services district. The resolution was approved by the Budget and Finance Committee and the Public Works Committee recommended deferment. Mr. Clifton moved to defer action on the resolution, upon the Committee's recommendation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a voice vote of the Council.

An ordinance approving a contract by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce for the promotion of tourism and convention business and the expenditure of funds. The substitute bill was approved by the Budget and Finance Committee.
