ORDINANCE NO. O99-1689

An ordinance accepting a grant in an amount not to exceed $6,900 from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Historical Commission to the Metropolitan Government, Metropolitan Historical Commission for the completion of the survey report from the Davidson County Architectural Survey.

Whereas, the Metropolitan Historical Commission was created by Ordinance No. 66-811 to further the general purposes of preservation of historic property and to promote an accurate historical knowledge in the area of Nashville and Davidson County; and

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Historical Commission, has agreed to grant the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through, the Metropolitan Historical Commission a sum not to exceed $6,900, effective for the period commencing on January 1, 1999 and ending on September 30, 1999, for the purpose of preparing and completing an architectural survey report; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant contract by and between the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Historical Commission, and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Historical Commission, in an amount not to exceed $6,900 for preparation of the architectural survey report, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the sum of four thousand six hundred dollars ($4,600) be provided for the purpose of providing the Metropolitan Government’s in-kind matching share for the program.

Section 3. That any amendments to this grant shall be approved by the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County receiving twenty one affirmative votes.

Section 4. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
