ORDINANCE NO. O99-1691
An ordinance approving a grant in the amount of seven thousand nine hundred fifty dollars ($7,950) from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Commission on National and Community Service to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Board of Parks and Recreation for the implementation of the learn and serve program.
Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Commission on National and Community Service has awarded a grant to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, the sum of seven thousand nine hundred fifty dollars ($7,950) for the implementation of the learn and serve program; and
Whereas, the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County will benefit by accepting this grant.
Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson county:
Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Commission on National and Community Service and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, for implementation of the learn and serve program, in an amount not to exceed seven thousand nine hundred fifty dollars ($7,950), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. Any amendment to the grant must be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving at least 21 affirmative votes.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
