ORDINANCE NO. O99-1686
An ordinance approving an agreement by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the City of Mt. Juliet concerning the resolution of certain disputes between the parties and for sewage transportation and treatment.
Whereas, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson currently provides sewage transportation and treatment services to the City of Mt. Juliet pursuant to an outdated contract that has led to certain disputes between the parties; and
Whereas, The Metropolitan Government and the City of Mt. Juliet seek to enter into a long term agreement resolving all current disputes and providing for the continued transportation and treatment of sewage in facilities belonging to the Metropolitan Government; and
Whereas, the resolution of disputes and establishment of a long-term sewage transportation and treatment agreement between the parties is in the best interests of the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County.
Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. The agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the City of Mt. Juliet, which is attached as Exhibit A and incorporated into this ordinance by reference, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the agreement on behalf of the Metropolitan Government.
Section 2. Any amendment to the agreement must be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving at least 21 affirmative votes.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
