M I N U T E S Metropolitan Council Meeting Tuesday, March 3, 1998 |
The Metropolitan Council met in regular session on this date at 7:00 p.m. in the Metropolitan Courthouse.
The invocation was offered by Councilmember Ron Nollner.
The Metropolitan Council gave the pledge of allegiance to the American Flag.
The roll was called and the following members were present during the progress of the meeting: Varallo, Armistead, Steine, Ferrell, Waters, Patton, Black, Nollner, Majors, Harrison, Beehan, Campbell, Dillard, Wooden, Ponder, French, Dale, Graves, Clifton, Sloss, Haddox, McCallister, Holt, Crafton, Johns, Kleinfelter, Arriola, Sontany, Hall, Holloway, Hollis, Alexander, Jenkins, Turner, Fentress, Lineweaver, and President West (37); Absent: Hart, Garrett, Stanley, Douglas (4).
The Minutes of the regular meeting of February 17, 1998 were approved.
The President gave notice of two vacancies on the Industrial Development Board and announced that nominations would be taken at the next regular meeting of the Council for the two unexpired terms ending Aug 23, 2001. Nominees will be referred to the Rules- Committee for a recommendation and an election will be held by the Council at its first meeting in April.
Mr. Graves moved to rescind action on the following bills and to set the bills for public hearing at the next regular meeting of the Council prior to action on second reading, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council:
An ordinance authorizing the acquisition of property by negotiation or condemnation for use in a public project for The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and specifically with relation to the construction of a new facility for Whitsitt Elementary School.
An ordinance authorizing the acquisition of property by negotiation or condemnation for use in a public project for The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and specifically with relation to the construction of a new facility for an elementary school located on the Old Mt. View Elementary School site.
An ordinance authorizing the acquisition of property by negotiation or condemnation for use in a public project for The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and specifically with relation to the construction of a new facility for Napier Elementary School.
