RESOLUTION RS2017-982

A resolution approving a Sheriff’s Alcohol Awareness for Everyone Grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Safety and Homeland Security, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, to undertake alcohol countermeasures highway safety projects.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Safety and Homeland Security, has awarded a Sheriff’s Alcohol Awareness for Everyone Grant in an amount not to exceed $15,000.00 with no cash match required to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, to undertake alcohol countermeasures highway safety projects; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Sheriff’s Alcohol Awareness for Everyone Grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Safety and Homeland Security, in an amount not to exceed $15,000.00, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, to undertake alcohol countermeasures highway safety projects, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office based on revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
