RESOLUTION RS2017-891

A resolution approving an agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Parks and Recreation, and the United States Department of Agriculture, to cooperate in a wildlife damage management program for all lands controlled by the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation (“Parks”) and the United States Department of Agriculture both desire to protect agriculture and other resources from damage associated with wildlife; and,

WHEREAS, the purpose of this wildlife damage management program is to reduce damages to property and natural resources and threats to human health and safety caused by wildlife on Parks property; and,

WHEREAS, the United States Department of Agriculture will use an integrated wildlife damage management approach in which a series of methods may be used or recommended to reduce wildlife damage on Parks property; and,

WHEREAS, the cooperative services agreement between Parks and the United States Department of Agriculture is attached hereto as Exhibit 1 and incorporated herein; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Parks and Recreation, and the United States Department of Agriculture, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit 1 and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
