RESOLUTION RS2017-810

A resolution approving an application for a Mosquito Control grant from the Tennessee Department of Health to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to provide funding for strengthening mosquito control efforts, to control mosquito borne diseases, and to protect the health of the community.

WHEREAS, the Tennessee Department of Health is accepting applications for a Mosquito Control grant with an award of $100,000 with no cash match required; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, for a Mosquito Control grant to provide funding for strengthening mosquito control efforts, to control mosquito borne diseases, and to protect the health of the community, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Board of Health is authorized to submit said application to the Tennessee Department of Health.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
