RESOLUTION RS2017-808

A resolution approving an application for a Play Spaces Grant from the National Recreation and Park Association in affiliation with Disney (NRPS/Disney) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Parks and Recreation Department with co-developer, Conexion Americas, as an endeavor to fund park projects that provide access to inclusive play spaces and increased physical activity.

WHEREAS, the National Recreation and Park Association in affiliation with Disney is accepting applications for a Play Spaces Grant, with an award of $50,000.00 and a required cash match of $50,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Parks and Recreation Department with co-developer, Conexion Americas, for a Play Spaces Grant as an endeavor to fund park projects that provide access to inclusive play spaces and increased physical activity, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Nashville Parks and Recreation Department is authorized to submit said application to the National Recreation and Park Association in affiliation with Disney (NRPA/Disney).

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
