RESOLUTION RS2017-800

A resolution approving amendment one to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Office of Family Safety, for a Family Justice Center Advocate/Navigator position to assist clients as they enter the Family Justice Center and to help with data collection.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Office of Family Safety, entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, for a Family Justice Center Advocate/Navigator position to assist clients as they enter the Family Justice Center and to help with data collection approved by RS2016-279; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement by increasing the grant award by $2,799,000.00 from $100,000.00 to $2,899,000.00, adding 17 full-time Advocate/Navigator positions, and changing the grant end date from June 30, 2018 to June 30, 2020, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the office of Family Safety, for Family Justice Center Advocate/Navigator positions to assist clients as they enter the Family Justice Center and to help with data collection, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
