RESOLUTION RS2017-784

A resolution recognizing Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County employees for their commitment to service and volunteer work.

WHEREAS, the city of Nashville and Davidson County could not function without the many volunteers who dedicate their time to support the community; and

WHEREAS, Nashville and its communities significantly benefit from the willingness of its citizens to serve; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize the following Nashville Metropolitan employees: from the Public Works Department: Josh Elliott, John Jumper, Mike Ribaudo-Waidler, and Archie French; from the Office of Emergency Management: Tony Maiden, Joel Sullivan, Rob Boudreau, Rusty King, David Crane, Michael Talbott, Audrey Lewis, and Luke Reed; from Metro Schools Facility and Grounds Maintenance Department: Jon Fuqua, Jason Morris, Rick Perry, Eric Jones, Bryan Pedigo, Virginold Holmes, and Justin Murphy; from Metro Schools Transportation Department: Dewayne Ferrell, Terry Wright, Michael Boyle, Michael Parman, Eddie Stokes, Brian Ward, John Mitchell, and Chad Sullens; and

WHEREAS, the persons listed herein lend their services to many projects and events in District 29, including the annual Southeast Nashville Egg Hunt and Festival in Antioch, Tennessee; and

WHEREAS, the Southeast Nashville Egg Hunt and Festival began as a small community Easter Egg Hunt fourteen years ago, and now draws over 7,000 attendees; and

WHEREAS, leaders from our government, schools, churches, and community come together to provide an exceptional community event that would not be possible without the service of these volunteers.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County employees for their commitment to service and volunteer work.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to each Metropolitan employee listed herein.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
