RESOLUTION NO. RS2017-753
A resolution approving an application for a Nashville Bike Grant from the Tennessee Highway Safety Office, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, to conduct vehicle and bicycle stops for the purpose of educating the public and gaining compliance with state and local ordinances.
WHEREAS, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office is accepting applications for a Nashville Bike Grant with an award of $10,150.27; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the grant application of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, for a Nashville Bike Grant to conduct vehicle and bicycle stops for the purpose of educating the public and gaining compliance with state and local ordinances, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is authorized to submit said application to the Tennessee Highway Safety Office.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
