RESOLUTION NO. RS2017-701

A resolution approving a contract between Opus Inspection, Inc. and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the provision of services relating to automobile emission testing.

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 10.103 of the Metropolitan Charter, the Metropolitan Board of Health ("Board") is responsible for administrative functions relating to the physical health of the citizens of Davidson County; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 10.104 of the Metropolitan Charter, the Board may, subject to approval by resolution of the Metropolitan Council, enter into contracts relating to the performance of its duties; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the agreement ("Agreement") attached to this resolution as Exhibit 1, the Board proposes to engage Opus Inspection, Inc. to provide services relating to automobile emission testing; and

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the Agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Agreement attached as Exhibit 1 to this resolution is hereby approved and the Mayor or her designee is authorized to execute it on behalf of the Metropolitan Government.

Section 2. This resolution shall take affect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.
