RESOLUTION NO. RS2017-692

A resolution approving amendment six to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, to establish and enforce federal and state mandated child support program guidelines for children born out of wedlock.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, previously entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, to establish and enforce federal and state mandated child support program guidelines for children born out of wedlock approved by RS2013-727; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $1,078,445.00 from $3,960,489.10 to $5,038,934.10 with a required cash match of $555,563.00 for a new cash match total of $2,595,815.90 and change the end date to June 30, 2018, a copy of which amendment six is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment six be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment six to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, to establish and enforce federal and state mandated child support program guidelines for children born out of wedlock, a copy of which amendment six is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
