RESOLUTION NO. RS2017-652

A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement between the State of Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Emergency Communications Center, to allow the Metropolitan Government access to TDOT’s live video feeds of traffic conditions.

WHEREAS, Metropolitan Government departments, including the Emergency Communications Center, would benefit from access to the TDOT live video feeds of traffic conditions to assist in the performance of various job duties; and,

WHEREAS, the intergovernmental agreement attached hereto and incorporated herein provides terms for such access; and,

WHEREAS, T.C.A. § 12-9-104 authorizes the Metropolitan Government to enter into intergovernmental agreements upon approval of the governing body by resolution; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement by and between the State of Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Emergency Communications Center, for the Metropolitan Government to have access to TDOT’s live video feeds of traffic conditions, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
