RESOLUTION NO. RS2017-617
A resolution requesting that the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department include additional officers, salary increases, and additional police vehicles and motorcycles in the FY2018 budget proposal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the members of the Metropolitan Council hereby request that the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department submit a FY2018 budget proposal that includes (a) twenty (20) additional police officers; (b) salary increases such that officers’ salaries match their years of service and achievements; and (c) ten (10) additional police patrol cars and five (5) additional police motorcycles as part of the reserve supply for units when other vehicles are out of service.
Section 2. That the Metropolitan Clerk is directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to Chief of Police Steve Anderson of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
