RESOLUTION NO. RS2017-573

A resolution approving an application for a Fort Negley Cultural Landscape Plan Grant from the Tennessee Historical Commission to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Historical Commission in conjunction with the Metropolitan Parks and Recreation Department and the Friends of Fort Negley, to hire a consultant to complete a Cultural Landscape Plan for Fort Negley.

WHEREAS, the Tennessee Historical Commission is accepting applications for a Fort Negley Cultural Landscape Plan Grant, with an award of $24,000.00, required cash match of $10,000.00, and in-kind match of $6,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Historical Commission in conjunction with the Metropolitan Parks and Recreation Department and the Friends of Fort Negley, to hire a consultant to complete a Cultural Landscape Plan for Fort Negley, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Historical Commission is authorized to submit said application to the Tennessee Historical Commission.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
