RESOLUTION NO. RS2017-557

A resolution approving an application for a State Justice Institute Technical Assistance Grant from the State Justice Institute to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Juvenile Court, to provide funding to obtain expert assistance to diagnose a problem, develop a response to that problem, and initiate implementation of any needed changes.

WHEREAS, the State Justice Institute is accepting applications for a State Justice Institute Technical Assistance Grant with an award of $44,910.00, a required cash match of $4,828.00, and an in-kind match of $19,310.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Juvenile Court, for a State Justice Institute Technical Assistance Grant to provide funding to obtain expert assistance to diagnose a problem, develop a response to that problem, and initiate implementation of any needed changes, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Nashville Juvenile Court is authorized to submit said application to the State Justice Institute.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
