RESOLUTION NO. RS2016-84

A resolution recognizing the Antioch and Cane Ridge Parent Advisory Council (PAC) members.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools has cultivated over the past years an esteemed Parent Advisory Council (PAC), whose overarching goals are to increase parent attendance and engagement, increase cluster identity and collaborations, create a strong link between parents and MNPS leadership and provide meaningful opportunities for parent input, leadership and engagement; and

WHEREAS, PAC has avidly impacted these goals by growing PAC attendance from 20 to over 150 parents, fortifying parent participation on various MNPS committees; including the Balanced Calendar, Parent University and Director’s Search Committees; encouraging the Districtwide implementation of GradeSpeed/Parent Connection and sponsoring meaningful parent workshops around MNPS educative practices, safety, family advocacy and exceptional education; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools acknowledges the evident achievements of the PAC; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council Office extends its sincere appreciation to those individuals whose efforts continue to sustain the Parent Advisory Committee, recognizing, in particular, the important contributions of:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the Antioch and Cane Ridge Parent Advisory Council (PAC) members.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this resolution to be presented to the Antioch and Cane Ridge PAC Officers.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
