RESOLUTION NO. RS2016-469

A resolution approving 750 South 5th Street as the location of the new administrative offices facility for the Sheriff.

WHEREAS, Project No. 17GS0018, Sheriff – New Administrative Offices Facility, was included in the 2016-2017 through 2021-2022 Capital Improvements Budget approved by Ordinance No. BL2016-252; and

WHEREAS, funding for a Sheriff’s Administrative Office was included as part of the Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Capital Spending Plan approved by Resolution No. RS2016-245; and

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. BL2016-312, as amended, provides that no proceeds shall be disbursed from general obligation bonds, commercial paper, or any other funding toward land acquisition for, construction of, or equipping the Sheriff’s New Administrative Offices Facility unless and until the specific location of this particular public works project has been reviewed and approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and

WHEREAS, it has been determined that 750 South 5th Street is the best location for the construction of the new Sheriff’s administrative offices facility.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. In accordance with the requirements of Ordinance No. BL2016-312, as amended, the Metropolitan County Council hereby approves 750 South 5th Street, Parcel No. 093040007600, as shown on the attached map and sketch incorporated herein as Exhibits A and B, as the location of the Sheriff’s new administrative offices facility.

Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
