RESOLUTION NO. RS2016-445

A resolution approving a data sharing agreement between the State of Tennessee Department of Correction and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

WHEREAS, the Tennessee Department of Correction and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department have a common interest in the sharing of TDOC probation and parole information, to promote the safety of citizens in Davidson County; and,

WHEREAS, the attached agreement facilitates the sharing of TDOC probation and parole data from TDOC to MNPD officers; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1: That the agreement by and between the State of Tennessee Department of Correction and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, authorizing the sharing of TDOC probation and parole information from TDOC to MNPD, attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2: That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
