RESOLUTION NO. RS2016-439

A resolution accepting a donation from Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the use and benefit of the Office of Family Safety.

WHEREAS, HCA wishes to donate furniture and artwork to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the use and benefit of the Office of Family Safety for the Family Justice Center; and,

WHEREAS, a copy of the donation letter and inventory list is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to Metropolitan Code of Laws § 5.04.120(B), donations exceeding $5,000 may be accepted and appropriated pursuant to Resolution; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this donation be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the donation by HCA of furniture and artwork, approximately valued at $1,231,200.00, to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the use and benefit of the Office of Family Safety, pursuant to the donation documentation attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That the Office of Family Safety is hereby authorized to accept this donation for its use and benefit.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

AMENDMENT NO. 1
TO
RESOLUTION NO. RS2016-439

Mr. President –

I move to amend Resolution No. RS2016-439 as follows:

I. By amending Section 1 by deleting it in its entirety and substituting therefore the following:
Section 1. That the donation by HCA of furniture and artwork, approximately valued at $615,600.00, to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the use and benefit of the Office of Family Safety, pursuant to the donation documentation attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
