RESOLUTION NO. RS2016-400

A resolution approving a contract by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Remotec, Inc., to provide the AndrosFX robotic platform, tools, and accessories utilized by the Hazardous Devices Unit of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent has recommended that Remotec, Inc. be awarded a sole source contract to provide the AndrosFX robotic platform, tools, and accessories utilized by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent has determined that Remotec, Inc. is the only source for the required AndrosFX robotic platform, tools, and accessories; and,

WHEREAS, Section 4.12.060 of the Metropolitan Code provides that “no sole source contract for the purchase of goods or services, excluding contracts for economic development initiatives and services, with a total contract amount in excess of two hundred fifty thousand dollars may be entered into unless and until such contract has been approved by resolution duly adopted by the council by twenty-one affirmative votes”; and,

WHEREAS, the total contract amount to provide the AndrosFX robotic platform, tools, and accessories will exceed two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000); and,

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this contract be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the contract between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Remotec, Inc., to provide the AndrosFX robotic platform, tools, and accessories utilized by the Hazardous Devices Unit of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, attached hereto, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
