RESOLUTION NO. RS2016-390

A resolution approving an amendment to an intergovernmental agreement by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, The City of Brentwood, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Department of Public Works, for a regional traffic management study and traffic signal optimization effort on several intersections within Southern Davidson County and Williamson County City of Brentwood under the Surface Transportation Program, PIN 119204.00.

WHEREAS, Resolution 2014-980 approved an intergovernmental agreement between the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, The City of Brentwood, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (“Metro”), acting by and through the Metropolitan Department of Public Works, for a regional traffic management study and traffic signal optimization effort on several intersections within Southern Davidson County and Williamson County City of Brentwood under the Surface Transportation Program, PIN 119204.00; and,

WHEREAS, Metro’s matching share of 20% of the estimated cost was $38,250 for a regional traffic management study and traffic signal optimization effort at several intersections within Southeast Davison County; and,

WHEREAS, Amendment 1 to said intergovernmental agreement reallocates right-of-way funds into design funds; and,

WHEREAS, Metro’s matching share of 20% of the estimated cost remains the same; and,

WHEREAS, Resolution 2014-980 provided that amendments to the intergovernmental agreement may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement amendment be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the amendment to the intergovernmental agreement by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, The City Brentwood, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Department of Public Works, for a regional traffic management study and traffic signal optimization effort on several intersections within Southern Davidson County and Williamson County City of Brentwood, PIN 119204.00, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. Any amendments, renewals, or extension of the terms of the agreement may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
