RESOLUTION NO. RS2016-342
A resolution approving an application for an Adoption Preparation/Heartworm Treatment Grant from the PETCO Foundation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to increase efforts to battle heartworm disease by offering a low cost treatment for animals with low to moderate heartworms to greatly increase their chance for adoption.
WHEREAS, PETCO Foundation is accepting applications for an Adoption Preparation/Heartworm Treatment Grant with an award of $15,000.00 with no cash match required to increase efforts to battle heartworm disease by offering a low cost treatment for animals with low to moderate heartworms to greatly increase their chance for adoption; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in the grant program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the grant application for an Adoption Preparation/Heartworm Treatment Grant with an award of $15,000.00, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Health Department is authorized to submit said grant application to PETCO Foundation.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
