RESOLUTION NO. RS2016-248
A resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a mutual commitment letter with the 100 Resilient Cities Network for participation in the 100 Resilient Cities Challenge program to help cities around the world build resilience to economic, social, and physical challenges that are increasingly part of the 21st century.
WHEREAS, the 100 Resilient Cities Network desires to enter into a understanding of mutual commitment with The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Mayor’s Office, for participation in the 100 Resilient Cities Challenge program to help cities around the world build resilience to economic, social, and physical challenges that are increasingly part of the 21st century; and
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the attached commitment letter be executed.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Metropolitan Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a mutual commitment letter with the 100 Resilient Cities Network, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, for participation in the 100 Resilient Cities Challenge program to help cities around the world build resilience to economic, social, and physical challenges that are increasingly part of the 21st century.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
