RESOLUTION NO. RS2016-240

A resolution authorizing The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to enter into an agreement with the Nolensville/College Grove Utility District to provide information needed to bill sewerage service for its customers in Williamson County.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (“Metro”) is the operator of a sanitary sewerage system operating in Davidson, Williamson and Wilson Counties in Tennessee; and,

WHEREAS, to appropriately bill customers and respond to customer service inquiries, Metro desires to enter into an agreement with Nolensville/College Grove Utility District, whereby Nolensville/College Grove Utility District will provide water meter readings for its customers in Williamson County to Metro; and,

WHEREAS, Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 12-9-101, et seq., ("The Interlocal Cooperation Act") authorizes political subdivisions of the state to enter into cooperative agreements by resolution of the local governing body; and,

WHEREAS, it is the best interest of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to enter into said Agreement with the Nolensville/College Grove Utility District.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Agreement by and between the Nolensville/College Grove Utility District and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said Agreement.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
