RESOLUTION NO. RS2016-177
A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement by and between the City of Goodlettsville, acting by and through the Goodlettsville Police Department, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, regarding law enforcement assistance.
WHEREAS, the intergovernmental agreement between the City of Goodlettsville and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, attached hereto, allows the parties to furnish one another assistance in law enforcement; and,
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated Section 12-9-104 provides that interlocal agreements between political subdivisions of the State and agencies of the United States may be approved by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement by and between the City of Goodlettsville, acting by and through the Goodlettsville Police Department, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, regarding law enforcement assistance, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
