RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-72

A resolution approving amendment one to a grant from the Nashville Public Library Foundation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, to fund a part-time Volunteer Services staff position to initiate partnerships with local colleges and universities and to recruit and place college volunteers throughout the library system.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, previously entered into a grant agreement with the Nashville Public Library Foundation to fund a part-time Volunteer Services staff position to initiate partnerships with local colleges and universities and to recruit and place college volunteers throughout the library system approved by RS2015-1558; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement by reducing the amount of the award by $10,000.00 from $37,300.00 to $27,300.00, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the grant by and between the Nashville Public Library Foundation and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, to fund a part-time Volunteer Services staff position to initiate partnerships with local colleges and universities and to recruit and place college volunteers throughout the library system, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is to be appropriated to the Nashville Public Library, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
