RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-53
A resolution to appropriate grant funds from the AARP Foundation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Farmers’ Market, for reimbursement of redeemed incentive tokens used to increase the purchase and consumption of fruits and vegetables by low- income consumers.
WHEREAS, the AARP Foundation has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed $7,500.00 with no cash match required to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Farmers’ Market, for reimbursement of redeemed incentive tokens used to increase the purchase and consumption of fruits and vegetables by low- income consumers; and,
WHEREAS, the Nashville Farmers’ Market has accepted this grant pursuant to its authority under the Metropolitan Charter Section 11.702 and Chapter 400 of the Private Acts of 1949 establishing the Farmers’ Market; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these funds be appropriated to the Nashville Farmers’ Market.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the funds from a grant by and between the AARP Foundation, in an amount not to exceed $7,500.00 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Farmers’ Market, for reimbursement of redeemed incentive tokens used to increase the purchase and consumption of fruits and vegetables by low-income consumers, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, be appropriated to the Nashville Farmers’ Market.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
