RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1624

A resolution accepting a grant from the Greater Nashville Regional Council to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission, to provide meals that meet RDA nutritional guidelines at congregate meal sites, meal delivery services, and transportation to eligible seniors and handicapped residents.

WHEREAS, the Greater Nashville Regional Council has awarded a grant to provide meals that meet RDA nutritional guidelines to eligible seniors in an amount not to exceed $287,698.00 with a required cash match of $31,966.44; to provide congregate meal sites for eligible seniors in an amount not to exceed $137,626.00 with no cash match required; to provide meals to be delivered to seniors in their homes in an amount not to exceed $368,585.00 with a required cash match of $40,953.89; to provide delivered meals to eligible seniors in an amount not to exceed $51,285.00 (state funding) with a required cash match of $5,698.33; and to provide transportation to eligible seniors and handicapped residents in Davidson County in an amount not to exceed $70,000.00 with a required cash match of $7,777.78, for a total grant award of $915,194.00; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the Greater Nashville Regional Council, in an amount not to exceed $915,194.00 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission, to provide meals that meet RDA nutritional guidelines at congregate meal sites, meal delivery services, and transportation to eligible seniors and handicapped residents, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Metropolitan Social Services Commission, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
