RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1616

A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Property Administration to accept the donation of three parcels of property (Parcel ID Nos. 05313002801, 05313002900, and 05313002800) for use in the Metropolitan Government’s public park and greenway system (Proposal No. 2015M-030PR-001).

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Code of Laws § 2.24.250(F) provides that fixed-price options for the acquisition of fee simple interest in real property to be used for certain purposes may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the document attached as Exhibit 1 and incorporated into this resolution by reference, the Madison Civitan Club proposes to donate the tracts of land at 512, 514 and 5116 Nawakwa Trail in Madison (Parcel ID No. 05313002801, 05313002900, and 05313002800) (collectively, the “Properties”); and,

WHEREAS, because of their location and characteristics, the Properties are well suited for use in the public park and greenway systems, and the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation has recommended their acquisition; and,

WHEREAS, acquisition of the Properties is in the best interest of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

Section 1. That the Director of Public Property Administration is hereby authorized to accept the proposed donation of the Properties and to receive and record such documents as may be necessary to carry out their acquisition.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, requiring it.
