RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1610
A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement by and between the United States Marshals Service and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, regarding security screening equipment.
WHEREAS, the intergovernmental agreement between the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department and the United States Marshals Service, attached hereto, allows MNPD to use USMS owned security screening equipment during Project Metro Safe Surrender; and,
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated Section 12-9-104 provides that interlocal agreements between political subdivisions of the State and agencies of the State may be approved by Resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement by and between the United States Marshals Service and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, that allows MNPD to use USMS owned security screening equipment during Project Metro Safe Surrender, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
