RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1591

A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Property Administration to exercise an option to purchase two parcels of property (Parcel ID Nos. 175-00-0-171.00 and 174-00-0-172.00) for use in the public park and greenway system by The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (Proposal No. 2015M-028PR-001).

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Code of Laws § 2.24.250(F) provides that fixed-price options for the purchase of fee simple interest in real property to be used for certain purposes may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the option agreement (the “Option”) attached as Exhibit 1 and incorporated into this resolution by reference, the Director of Public Property Administration proposes to purchase the tracts of land at 0 Old Hickory Boulevard (Parcel ID No. 175-00-0-171.00) and (Parcel ID No. 174-00-0-172.00) (collectively, the “Properties”); and,

WHEREAS, because of their location and characteristics, the Properties are well suited for use in the public park and greenway systems, and the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation has recommended their acquisition; and,

WHEREAS, purchase of the Properties is in the best interest of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

Section 1. That the Director of Public Property Administration is hereby authorized to exercise the Option and to receive, execute, and record such documents as may be necessary to carry out the purchase of the Properties.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect upon passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, requiring it.
