RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1560

A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Property Administration to exercise options to purchase five parcels of property (Parcel ID Nos. 09110043900, 14816007200, 14816007700, 17400000400 and 16204000100) for use in the public park and greenway system by The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (Proposal No. 2015M-021PR-001).

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Code of Laws § 2.24.250(F) provides that fixed-price options for the purchase of fee simple interest in real property to be used for certain purposes may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the option agreements (the “Options”) attached collectively as Exhibit 1 and incorporated into this resolution by reference, the Director of Public Property Administration proposes to purchase the tracts of land at 0 Hite Street (Parcel ID No. 09110043900), 2359 Antioch Pike (Parcel ID No. 14816007200), 2364 Antioch Pike (Parcel ID No. 14816007700), an unnumbered parcel north of Pettus Road and west of Preston Road (Parcel ID No. 17400000400) and 2403 Antioch Pike (Parcel ID No. 16204000100) (collectively, the “Properties”); and,

WHEREAS, because of their location and characteristics, the Properties are well suited for use in the public park and greenway systems, and the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation has recommended their acquisition; and,

WHEREAS, purchase of the Properties is in the best interest of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

Section 1. That the Director of Public Property Administration is hereby authorized to exercise the Options and to receive, execute, and record such documents as may be necessary to carry out the purchase of the Properties.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect upon passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, requiring it.
