RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1547

A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement by and between the United States Government, by and through Medicare, and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Nashville Fire Department, to allow the Fire Department to bill Medicare.

WHEREAS, the intergovernmental agreement between the Nashville Fire Department and Medicare, attached hereto and incorporated herein, is required for the Fire Department to bill Medicare; and,

WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated Section 12-9-104 provides that Intergovernmental Agreements between political subdivisions of the State and agencies of the United States may be approved by Resolution; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement by and between the United States Government, by and through Medicare, and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Nashville Fire Department, to allow the Fire Department to bill Medicare, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
