RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1538

A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Department of Public Works, for county wide signalized intersection improvements, PIN 111335.01.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation seek to enter into an intergovernmental agreement to construct/install various improvements for county wide signalized intersections , PIN 111335.01; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the agreement attached hereto, the total cost estimate of the project is $4,014,062.00, 80% of which will be funded by the federal government, and 20% of which will be funded locally; and,

WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 12-9-104(b) authorizes The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to enter into intergovernmental agreements with the State of Tennessee by resolution; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Department of Public Works, for various county wide signalized intersection improvements, PIN 111335.01, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. Any amendments, renewals, or extension of the terms of the agreement may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
