RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1531

A resolution to approve the second amendment to the lease agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Parkway Towers, LLC for the use of parking space in the Parkway Towers’ garage. (Proposal Number 2013M-033PR-003).

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (“Metro”) has a lease agreement with Parkway Towers, LLC, which provides office space and designated parking space for Metro employees inside the Parkway Towers’ garage; and,

WHEREAS, Metro and Parkway Towers, LLC have agreed to a second lease amendment which provides for additional reserved parking spaces within the Parkway Towers garage for the offices of the Public Defender, the Justice Information Services, the Human Resources Department, the Human Relations Commission and the Internal Auditor; and,

WHEREAS, all other terms, including the term of the lease, remains unchanged; and,

WHEREAS, BL2013-555 provides that amendments to the lease agreement may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan County Council with 21 or more affirmative votes; and,

WHEREAS, the approval of this second amendment is in the best interests of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That this second lease amendment entered into between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Parkway Towers, LLC, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
