RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1465

A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement by and between the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, for participation in the State DNA Index System and the National DNA Index System.

WHEREAS, the intergovernmental agreement between the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, attached hereto, specifies the parties’ roles and responsibilities regarding participation in the State DNA Index System and the National DNA Index System; and,

WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated Section 12-9-104 provides that interlocal agreements between political subdivisions of the State and agencies of the State may be approved by Resolution; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement by and between the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, that specifies the parties’ roles and responsibilities regarding participation in the State DNA Index System and the National DNA Index System, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
