RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1457
A resolution approving amendment one to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, to establish programs and deliver services to prepare eligible participants for re-entry into the labor force and to offer training to those facing serious barriers to productive employment. WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, previously entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to establish programs and deliver services to prepare eligible participants for re-entry into the labor force and to offer training to those facing serious barriers to productive employment approved by resolution RS2014-1321; and,
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement by deleting Section A.7 Federal Award Identification Worksheet in its entirety and replacing with Attachment D, delete Section C.1 Maximum Liability in its entirety and replacing with an increase in the grant award of $971.00 for a new total of $1,742,818.00, and delete Section D.9 Prohibition of Illegal Immigrants in its entirety and replacing with amendment one, a copy of which is attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That amendment one to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, to establish programs and deliver services to prepare eligible participants for re-entry into the labor force and to offer training to those facing serious barriers to productive employment, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
